Transfer Dye Workshop

Yesterday we had a very enjoyable workshop with the talented ladies at Trelyn Quilters, once shown the process they were really enthusiastic and produced lots of lovely papers.

Here are some of the papers drying while other designs were being created...

As you can imagine the fabrics that were produced were wonderful. Unfortunately, I didn't take any other photos but hopefully I'll get some finished items to show you at a later date.

Thank you to Trelyn Quilters for inviting us, it's so rewarding when we show a technique we love and it's then enjoyed by everyone.

Thanks for reading, back soon,
Sue

Time to get creative...

Firstly, can I start by wishing everyone a very Happy and Creative New Year on behalf of Carolyn and myself and hope that you had a joyful festive period.

As you will have seen in the last post we are starting the year with our Begin Patchwork 6 Week Course, there's still time to enrol if you're interested, you'll find the details on our website.
We use the Quilt-As-You-Go Method of construction, which eliminates the fear factor of having a massive quilting project.

At the end of last year I was teasing you with small photos of our new recycled workshop. The keen eyed amongst you will have spotted it behind Carolyn and myself in our Open Day photos. With the hustle and bustle of the day we didn't get a chance to take a proper photo, but I've tried my best since although not good, sorry, anyway here it is...

Chequered Past
And we didn't forget the back...
back view
With reference to the past and recycling, it's based on the Log Cabin block and as you can imagine with all the different types of recycled fabrics, it's a real comforter. We will be running this workshop on 5th June at Fraddon Village Hall, so there's plenty of time to have a new year wardrobe clear out and save those shirts, skirts, dresses etc. to make a real keepsake, we also used upholstery and curtain fabric. Of course patchwork fabric would work just as well and this is the ideal opportunity to use up some of the stash and scraps that we all keep.

That's it for now, hope the weather hasn't made your life to unbearable, stay safe and I'll be back soon,
Sue
