New Workshop & New Work

You may think we have deserted you, but no, we are still here beavering away. One reason for the lack of blogging is that we are preparing work to install into the Craft Kiln at Charlestown on Monday. It's all very exciting but then you realise stock has to be made, labels considered and display stands constructed. Anyway, all is well on the way with only a few last minute preparations to finish.

Another reason is preparing for our Begin Patchwork 6 week Course which started on Thursday, there's always lots of printing and background work, but now that's all taken care of we can settle down, enjoy our ladies company and watch as their beautiful quilts take shape, and we get to stroke their fabric! We have seven enthusiastic ladies and another for the odd day as a refresher. Once again I never got a chance to snap any photos but I promise to take plenty next time.

But, I have got a couple of pieces to show you that I've finished for the Craft Kiln. These were inspired by photos I took at Degembris Manor Farm on our Retreat weekend. The old workshop roof had the most gorgeous colours of rust, green, grey/blue and plumb and this is my interpretation ready for mounting.

And you will notice my favourite colours again, hope you enjoyed seeing these pieces.

Thanks for reading, back soon
